Sean Thompson is a financial planning associate with our team at PCIA in Charleston. Though he is relatively new to the industry, he is currently working on his Series 65 registration as well as his life and health license. He began his career with Fidelity, where he spent two years helping clients with their charitable efforts, their workplace investments and their personal investments. “I really valued my time at Fidelity, and I am so grateful that I was able to start there. Now, I’m happy to be working with Jason and PCIA to provide extremely personal, hands-on service to each of our clients,” Sean says.

High-level service is actually what drove Sean to become a financial professional in the first place. He now combines his passions of helping people and studying investment strategies by offering custom advice to clients trying to construct a plan for the future. He has also always loved math, and he enjoys the opportunity to show clients not just a strategy that he believes will work, but why he believes it will work and how to leverage proper planning techniques to achieve a specific goal. Sean says, “I think numbers tend to seem a bit cold, which is why I like to use them to show a client how they can achieve peace of mind and financial security.”

Originally from Grafton, Massachusetts, Sean started his college career at the University of South Carolina prior to transferring to the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He graduated with a degree in finance before moving back down to South Carolina to work with our team. “Massachusetts will always be home, but there’s something so charming about South Carolina. It also helps to know that I’ve developed a second family in the office,” Sean says.

A superfan of his hometown Boston sports teams, Sean enjoys spending his free time golfing, at the beach and playing pickleball. He also considers himself a foodie and has made use of every chance to find new restaurants around the Charleston area. In fact, when he’s not at the office, you’ll likely find him enjoying a from-scratch meal right on the shores of our gorgeous beaches.
